30th Anniversary! (1981 - 2011)

COMMWORLD of Kansas City celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2011. The four top managers share 114 years of experience working together as a team at COMMWORLD. On October 19, 1981, Bob Bennett, CEO & Founder of COMMWORLD of Kansas City, opened the first office in the Greater Kansas City area.

Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (HEMP)

COMMWORLD of Kansas City was one of only nine companies selected in September 2005 to participate in HEMP. To qualify, candidates undergo a rigorous application process including review of 3 years' financials, background checks of principals, interview and site visit. The business must be at least three years old, generate one to seventy-five million dollars of revenue per year and the owners must have a desire to substantially grow their business. The program was founded in 1995 by Barnett Helzberg, Jr., former owner and president of Helzberg Diamonds after his 23-year mentoring relationship with Ewing Kauffman.

The Women Who Mean Business Award recognizes 25 outstanding Kansas City women in for-profit businesses who have made significant contributions to their business or industry and to the community. At the time of her selection in 2005, Linda Bennett, then Vice President of COMMWORLD of Kansas City, was one of only 150 business women in Kansas City to ever receive this honor.
