2012 Could Mark Positive Shift
You know the doom and gloom theories that 2012 signals the end of the world. Have
you also heard that 2012 could mark a major positive shift in our world?
It's been said that "thoughts are things" and "as a man thinketh, so shall he be".
Perhaps you and I have more control than we ever dreamed over what our world will
be. If we put our hearts and minds into making 2012 a great year, we believe it
will happen.
Research conducted by The Institute of HeartMath* and The Institute of Noetic Sciences*,
has discovered that as individual people do things to raise their consciousness,
it has the same effect as a rising tide which lifts all boats.
This newsletter is dedicated to sharing ideas to make 2012 a better year. It includes
3 "New Year's Resolutions" to consider and suggestions for how to accomplish them.

Which is Best – Digital or VoIP?
If you resolve to invest in technology to improve your business, what kind is the
best?
Many telecommunications equipment manufacturers only have one flavor, so, of course,
they claim their way is best. Some say Digital technology is best because it's more
reliable. Others claim VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) technology is best because
it's more cost effective.
Take
a look at this video to see the "Best of Both Worlds".
The truth is, this isn't a "one-size-fits-all" question. It depends on the way you
run your business, the status of your data network, the existing wiring in your
facility, your plans for the future and more.
Toshiba and Samsung, both major global manufacturers, offer the "Best of Both Worlds"–
Digital, IP and Converged which combines both technologies.
Resolution 3 - Reduce Stress…
Everyone knows that stress is a major factor in our lives. The pace of living keeps
getting faster and the amount of information we're exposed to is far greater than
previous generations faced. Even the U.S. Government Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) recognizes stress as a huge problem and a contributing factor
to illness, injury, work performance and psychological challenges.
Taking steps to reduce stress can increase your health, happiness and productivity
in 2012 and beyond.
In other articles, we've shared ways that the right technology can improve productivity
and profits, but sometimes we all need to take a break. Use technology to manage
better and don't let yourself become a slave to it. Sometimes you need to press
the Do-Not-Disturb button on your phone, turn your cell phone off (you can still
hear it on vibrate), turn off the ding that announces every email and give yourself
a break from work.

Fun Phone Facts…
In 1876¸ America celebrated its 100th birthday at the Centennial Exposition,
the first World's Fair in the U.S. The event was held in Philadelphia and attendees
saw fantastic things they had never seen before including electric lights, Heinz
Catsup, the arm and torch of the Statue of Liberty and Hires rootbeer. Some claimed
the most extraordinary exhibit was the "Harmonic Telegraph".
The first-time inventor who exhibited his Harmonic Telegraph was a 29-year-old teacher
from Boston named Alexander Graham Bell. The name of the device would later be changed
to "telephone" taken from the Greek and meaning "far speaking". His student / future
wife had talked him into showing his invention at the Exposition. He had papers
to grade and didn't see how it could be beneficial.
